i) Citizenship, Equal Citizenship, and Citizenship Education

Equal Citizenship emphasizes that all citizens, regardless of their background, should have tsame rights, privileges, and opportunities within a society. It is based on the principle of fairnensuring that no one is discriminated against based on race, gender, or socioeconomic statuCitizenship Education involves teaching individuals, especially learners, about their rights,
responsibilities, and roles as members of a democratic society. It aims to promote active
participation, critical thinking, and an understanding of social and political structures.

ii) Minimalist and Maximalist Views of Citizenship

Minimalist View of Citizenship focuses on the legal status of an individual within a country. It is anarrow perspective that primarily considers citizenship as a legal identity with basic rights anobligations, such as obeying laws and paying taxes, without requiring active participation in civaffairs.
Maximalist View of Citizenship goes beyond legal recognition and includes active participation
