INTRODUCTION
Assessment 5 is a written assessment that contributes 25% towards your year mark.
This assessment measures your achievement of the outcomes of section C in the study
guide, learning units 8 & 9, which deal with Physical Education

In this assessment, you will be required to demonstrate that you have met the following
outcomes and assessment criteria:
• Define key concepts relevant to this learning unit
• Movement, physical literacy, perceptual motor, and physical education
•
illustrate the role of movement in physical, social, emotional, and psychological
development.
• Understand the gross motor development of the child according to the motor development
stages
• Interpret the impact of motor skills on the child’s learning readiness
• Understand the link between underlying sensory systems, movement
and learning readiness

To complete this assessment, refer to the contents of Section C, learning units 8 & 9.
4. SUBMISSION OF ASSESSMENT 5
Note that your assessment must be submitted online only, on or before the due date.
Assessments may not be submitted by e-mail. To obtain detailed information on the assessment
requirements, consult the Study@ Unisa publication online and Tutorial Letter 101 for this module.
Please ensure that you submit the correct assessment. You have three opportunities to submit,
after which the system will prevent you from making any further attempts. To ensure that you find
and upload the correct assessment, always save an assessment under your student number,
surname, module name and assessment number (e.g., 1237654 Makgato LSP1501 Ass 5).
Make sure that you understand the wording of the assessment correctly. Do not deliberately
misinterpret the assessment to make it easier for you to answer.
Work systematically. Work out a scheme/action plan before you start answering the question. The
first page of your submission should be a cover page with your name and student number, and
the relevant assessment information, e.g module code and assessment number.
In case of handwritten assessments, write on the paper and ensure that the various pages are
attached in the correct order. Then, scan and submit your answer file online as a single PDF
document.
Your answers must be written in English.

5. PLAGIARISM
We want to remind you that it is unethical (and unacceptable) to submit assessments that are not
your own work. If the University becomes aware of such malpractices, it will take disciplinary
measures against the student concerned. When completing assessments, you must submit your
own ideas, in your own words, sometimes interspersed with relevant short quotations that are
properly referenced. Also note that although you may work together with other students when
preparing assessments/assignments, each of you must submit your assignment. It is
unacceptable for students to submit identical assignments because they worked together. That is
regarded as copying (a form of plagiarism), and none of those assessments will be marked.
Furthermore, you may be penalised or subjected to disciplinary proceedings by the University.
Turnitin is activated for this assessment. This means that a Turnitin report will be generated once
you submit your answer file. Please accept the end-user license agreement (EULA). If the status
of your submission shows “Queued,” it means that your assessment was submitted
successfully, but that the Turnitin report has not been generated yet. Once the Turnitin report
has been generated, it will show either a similarity percentage, which is an indication of plagiarism,
or it may show an error. However, this still means that your assessment was submitted
successfully; it is just an error in the generation of the Turnitin report. You don’t need to take any
further action, and you will not be penalised. A Turnitin report cannot be generated for certain file
types, and you will not be penalised if there is an error in the generation of the Turnitin report.
This just means that we will conduct a plagiarism check manually.
No AI tools are allowed to be used for this assessment.
ASSESSMENT 5
This assessment assesses the learning outcomes of all the Section C learning Units (8 & 9) Physical
Education for LSP1501. Development in pre- and during the Foundation phase provides the best
opportunity for enhancing physical activity and learning. Please make sure you have read the two
study units.
• You have to apply your answer to the foundation phase and within the context of the study
units, which is what you are studying.
• No format or layout changes of any table in the assessment must be made.
• It has to stay the same page for page as provided.
• You only submit the assessment part, pages 7 to the end
• You can print the assessment and complete the assessment on the printed copy.
• You can retype the assessment, but the exact layout (page for page) must be the same
• All drawings must be stick figure drawings of gross motor skills.
• Clear drawings for Physical activities for lessons

• Clear photos must also be provided, Black and white or colour
• No internet images are allowed as per the instructions.
• Do not type on the PDF document with Text script, as the file will corrupt when save it.
• Do not take photos of pages

• Unisa reserves the copyright of the assessment.
• AI tools are not allowed to be used in this assessment. If found, you will get zero.

• Design and create your own multi-station lessons, one for Grade R, another one for Grade 1
learners.
• No one station may have the same perceptual motor skill, and no station may be the same as what
you designed in Question 2.
• Complete your lesson on one A4 page using the correct layout, which is provided in your study guide
and below. NO changes to the layout are allowed.
• No copying of any examples given previously in Question 2
• All drawings must be hand-drawn, stick figure drawings.
• Equipment must also be drawn.
• No tracing of any internet drawings or internet pictures.
• These activities require careful planning and should be stations on their own.
• All activities must be your own ideas.
• Only one outcome must be provided for each station; if you provide more
than one, only the first one is marked
• The lesson layout is prescribed and may not be changed
Your lesson must include the following:
