Evaluate the current state of your OWN surrounding local environment’s air OR freshwater
resources. NOT BOTH.
This question requires you to complete sub-questions 1.1 to 1.5 – briefly summarised as a suitable map
and a brief description of your surrounding environment, the current condition of the air OR freshwater
in your indicated environment, description of the most significant issues related to your selected resource
in YOUR environment, description of the causes and consequences of its degradation and, lastly,
proposing context-specific measures to address ongoing degradation.

1.1 Provide a suitable map(s), showing your location, that is, village, town, suburb and/or
city, AND a brief description thereof.

Please use Google Maps to show your location on the map. The map should include and
show the specific place name(s) – example on the next page:

You are welcome to provide two (2) maps and/or an additional map showing the land cover. The
second map, figure 1.2, can show the real current land cover/land use through selecting the
satellite layer.

Please note: The additional map is not a requirement. The satellite image map showing the land
cover does, however, help to provide additional context and assist with sub-questions 1.2 to 1.5.
