Politics of cultural tourism recognises that different regions and countries the world have in different ways as result of their complex histories and political trajectories. Every has its own cultures, and some may seem more global or traditional than others. This diversity can pose challenges for countries trying to differentiate themselves and promote their uniqueness to visitors with limited cultural awareness. Some countries are blessed with beautiful scenery, and some have a wonderful architecture or folk culture. Consequently, developing widespread cultural tourism can be difficult.

In relation to units 3 and 4 of this module, mass cultural tourism is growing, especially in cities and heritage sites. Identify a Heritage Site that has me been one of the worst affected and answers as follows:

 

In full, State the name of a cultural heritage site hat you believe was or is worst affected by mass cultural tourism and the country in which it is situated. (2 marks)
