Sicelo had previously been energetic, fully participating in all lessons and liked playing soccer with his friends. He has stopped doing his homework and refuses to join in the extramural activities he used to enjoy.
A school counsellor works from a residence on the same street as the school. During break time one day Mr Johnson takes matters into his own hands and tells Sicelo to get in his car and he will take him for a drive to chat. He drops Sicelo off at the school counsellor down the road instead. The counsellor then agrees to assess Sicelo to set counselling goals so that they can meet weekly during school hours for the next 6 weeks. Mr Johnson says that he will bring Sicelo to the sessions every week.
