VAP2601 ASSESSMENT 4A: A Letter to Future Teachers
Dear Future Teachers of Creative Arts,
I am writing to you from 2026, and I want to share what I have learned during my
journey through the Visual and Performing Arts module. I hope my experience will help
you as you begin your own teaching career.
What I Learned in This Module
When I started this module, I was nervous. I am not an artist. I cannot draw well or sing
beautifully. But I quickly learned that you do not need to be a great artist to be a great
arts teacher. The most important thing is to understand why the arts matter for children.
I learned that the creative arts include visual art, drama, music, and dance. Each one
helps children grow in different ways. The arts help children express their feelings, buildconfidence, and solve problems. They also help children understand themselves and
others better. I used to think maths and science were the most important subjects. Now
I know that the arts are just as valuable for building a complete person.
