Assessment Task: Catchment and River Management
1. Task Description:
Learners will be provided with a case study of a river catchment area experiencing various
environmental challenges. They will be required to:
Analyze the case study to identify and describe the main environmental and socioeconomic
issues
affecting
the
catchment
area.
Evaluate the effectiveness of current management practices in addressing these issues.
Create a comprehensive and innovative management plan to mitigate the identified issues
and promote sustainable management of the catchment area.

Learners will demonstrate the ability to critically analyze environmental issues, evaluate
management practices, and create a sustainable management plan for a river catchment
area.
