Description
This assignment responds to a case study involving Sarah, a postgraduate student researching the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education. It addresses three critical tasks:
-
Source Evaluation – analysing different types of sources (blog, Wikipedia, journal article, government report) and determining which should be prioritised based on their credibility, publication process, and academic value.
-
Credibility of Academic Sources – discussing key features that define a reliable academic source, including peer review, author expertise, formal structure, and referencing.
-
Academic Integrity and Citation – explaining how proper citation practices uphold ethical standards in academic work, prevent plagiarism, and ensure transparency through consistent referencing styles such as APA, Harvard, and MLA.
The assignment is written in a formal academic tone and demonstrates critical thinking, in line with the expectations of the RCE2601 module on research and critical reasoning. It integrates theory and practical examples to justify responses and concludes with a properly formatted reference list.
