Initial Instruction:
Your are required to conduct a one-to-one/individual, interview with a person in your
community who is facing a difficulty/problem. To maintain objectivity, this person should
not be a friend or family member. Your goal is to practice foundational counselling skills
in a real-world context.
The task: Find a person to interview about a problem or difficulty they are experiencing.
The person could be anybody except a friend or family member. Interview the person
about the problem or difficulty they are experiencing and provide a report on how you
performed the following counselling actions:
Question 1 – The interviewee’s story
Provide a brief summary of the person’s story, focusing on the core of the problem and
its impact on their life. Use a pseudonym and not the person’s real name. (Limit: 1
paragraph). (10 Points)
