The Department of Home Affairs in the Ekurhuleni region has been battling with poor
staff performance, corruption, and absenteeism amongst other things. As mitigation to
these challenges, critically discuss the process of staff acquisition and programme team
development.
NB: You are required to briefly discuss staff acquisition, the stages thereof, and
programme team development.

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in the Ekurhuleni region faces serious problems
like poor staff performance, corruption, and absenteeism. These issues make it hard for
the department to provide good services, damage public trust, and put pressure on
resources. To fix these problems, the department needs to take a fresh look at how it
hires staff and how it builds strong, well-functioning teams. This includes looking at the
steps in hiring staff such as job analysis, what is needed, and what is expected and
understanding how team development works. These two areas are key to solving the
department’s problems and creating a workforce that is strong, honest, and effective.
