He concluded his statement by saying that the current state of crime is unacceptable and must be confronted with unwavering resolve and strategic precision.
His address revealed that crime is generally on the rise and that there were 135 ransom demands, 30 extortion-related kidnappings, and 8 human trafficking cases reported in this period. Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal were the provinces with the highest number of these incidents.
