The police investigations revealed that on Friday, 17 April 2015, two constables from the Springs Detective Service, accompanied by three informers, went to Carltonville in search of four suspects in a murder case they were investigating. It has been alleged that the two constables found one of the four suspects and that, during their interrogation, they tortured this suspect to the point where he lost consciousness. They transported the unconscious man to a hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival.
