students as professors,” Sam writes 6𝑆𝑆 = 𝑃𝑃.
This is a famous error known as the ‘reversal error’. Explain why Sam’s logic is
flawed. (Hint: Test his equation with numbersβ€”if there are 2 professors, how
many students should there be, and does his equation work?)
