The second assignment for LME3701 in Semester 1 of 2023 focuses on a comparative research approach examining the legal frameworks for combating child marriage in South Africa and Nigeria. The analysis will consider the intersection of cultural practices and children’s rights in both countries. The research report includes table of contents, footnotes, and bibliography included.
The comparative analysis will explore the research proposal, you must look at the laws of Nigeria. Legislation, case law, law reform commission reports, similarities and differences in the legal frameworks, as well as the cultural practices and beliefs that contribute to child marriage.
This assignment provides insight into the effectiveness of legal frameworks and cultural interventions in combating child marriage. The findings of the research will contribute to a better understanding of the complex factors that perpetuate child marriage and inform strategies for its prevention and elimination.
