In your answer, also indicate whether the CRPD provides for individual
complaints processes.

Enforcement Mechanisms under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) is a landmark
international treaty that seeks to protect and promote the rights of persons with
disabilities. One of the key aspects of the CRPD is its enforcement mechanisms, which
ensure that State Parties adhere to their obligations under the Convention. This essay
critically discusses the enforcement mechanisms under the CRPD, examining the role
of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the reporting system, the
inquiry procedure, and the individual complaints mechanism. And to such an extent, it
assesses whether the CRPD provides adequate avenues for individuals to seek redress
when their rights have been violated.
