Question 1: Visual Arts Activity Design Read the following statement Many South African schools lack the necessary resources to effectively teach Creative Arts, which limits learners’ creative development and access to holistic education. However, the CAPS curriculum emphasises environmental awareness and encourages the use of recycled materials. Teachers can promote sustainability and creativity by collecting used cereal boxes, tins and cardboard. Placing a recycling box in the Creative Arts classroom provides learners with accessible materials to transform into creative products, turning a challenge into an opportunity for innovation. 1. Design a 30-minute Visual Arts activity for Grade 5 learners. Your task is to plan and describe a creative, engaging and suitable activity for a classroom with limited resources. Answer all the following sub-questions clearly and in full sentences: 1.1. Describe your Visual Arts activity. Include what learners will do, what they will learn and how the activity fits into a 30-minute lesson. 1.2. Provide the Grade, Term, Topic, Theme and the CAPS page number where your activity fits in. 1.3. Identify and explain one Element of Art that will be explored in your activity. 1.4. Identify and explain one Principle of Design that will be explored in your activity. 1.5. Give your activity a creative and relevant title.  Question 2: CAPS and Visual Art Link 2.1. Explain how your activity reflects key CAPS principles in Creative Arts education. 2.2. Describe how your activity aligns with the aims of the Creative Arts subject. 2.3. Discuss how your activity promotes inclusivity, diversity and accessibility in the classroom.  Question 3: Reflective Paragraph 3.1. Write a short paragraph (100–150 words): Why must Creative Arts teachers be creative with limited resources? In your answer, reflect on some challenges in South African schools in the Creative Arts classroom, and how innovative thinking and “thinking out of the box” help learners grow.
