curtains, blinds and other textile products for residential and commercial clients.

Due to increased demand, Thandi Mokoena, the owner and operations manager, plans to
expand the production team. The factory operates from 08:30 to 17:30, but production
employees are expected to arrive at 07:00 to prepare cutting tables, organise fabrics, check
sewing machines and prepare customer orders before production begins.

Some employees have raised concerns about the early starting time because of family
responsibilities, including taking children to school and caring for family members. At the
same time, Thandi needs to recruit additional machinists, cutters, installers and general
production employees. Once appointed, these employees will need to be properly introduced
to the organisation and their jobs.

Lerato Naidoo, the newly appointed HR officer, has also advised Thandi that the business
should consider its longer-term approach to filling vacancies internally when suitable
opportunities arise.

QUESTION 1
