1. Assess whether De Beer’s statement applies to the city you have chosen. Present evidence to either support or challenge the claim made in the statement.
2. Discuss factors behind spatial segregation by doing the following:
• Identify and explain key historical, socio-economic, political, and planning-related factors that contribute to ongoing spatial segregation.
• Use relevant geospatial data, maps and/or scholarly literature to support your discussion.
• Where possible, incorporate recent statistics or policy documents.
