3.1. Rodger has suffered a stroke which was caused by thrombus passing through a
section in the brain. The doctor ordered the immediate treatment of the condition
with t-PA (tissue plasminogen activator). Discuss the reason. (5)
3.2. Patient B has had their stomach removed which has led to the development of a
vitamin deficiency. What vitamin could he be deficient of and what condition of the
blood is he likely to develop? (5)
3.3. Naomi has had a heart transplant. The surgeon sends him home with
immunosuppressant drugs which he will be taking for the rest of his life. Why
would this be? How will the use these drugs impact the patient? (5)
