You are the Manager of Imfundo Literacy Projects. The main objective of your organisation is to encourage literacy and reading in the community of Randavell. INSTRUCTIONS
The Randavell City Council including the Director of Library Services supports local initiatives similar to your project.
Write a letter to the Director of Library Services, Dr Sello Diketso, Private Bag X246, ReadtoLearn, Pretoria, 3330.
Give THREE reasons for establishing the library. Also, make a request for donations.
Request FOUR specific pieces of equipment and types of books that you would like the Randavell Community Council to donate for the library project.
Do NOT forget to express goodwill in the opening and closing paragraphs.
QUESTION 2: INVESTIGATIVE REPORT
The purpose of this question is to determine whether you understand how to write an investigative report. To answer it effectively, you are expected to complete the necessary preparatory readings.

BACKGROUND
The Randavell City Council is prepared to partner with Imfundo Literacy Project to support the establishment of a library. However, they require evidence that this project will be addressing a need which the entire community will support. The Municipal Manager, Mr Ramotse, instructed you, the Project Officer to compile an investigative report to be submitted by 30 May 2025.
INSTRUCTIONS
On 30 April 2025 the Municipal Manager of Randavell City Council, Mr Ramotse, instructed you, the Project Officer, to investigate why the Randavell community needed a library and how the initiative would be supported and benefit the community at large. You are expected to submit the report with recommendations to Mr Ramotse on 30 May 2025.
Your report should not exceed 3 pages.
Use the following headings and sub-headings:
TITLE
The title should clearly reflect what the investigation is about, where it is taking place, and the purpose behind it. Remember to present your title in UPPERCASE.
1. TERMS OF REFERENCE
Include the following details: the date you were commissioned to conduct the investigation, the name and position of the person who commissioned you, your own name and position, a brief overview of the report, and the due date for submitting the report and recommendations as terms of reference.
