According to Prashar, Gupta & Dwivedi (2024), academic dishonesty has emerged
as a significant concern among higher education institutions (HEIs). One troubling
aspect of this issue is unintentional plagiarism, which has been reported to be
prevalent among students. Research in ethics suggests that this phenomenon
frequently arises from a lack of awareness regarding the ethical standards
associated with plagiarism, which in turn leads to flawed ethical judgments.
