 Language Barrier
Many learners feel unsafe expressing themselves in English and are unable to answer
questions even though they know the answers in their home language. This creates a
barrier to full participation and achievement in the classroom (DoE, 2001; UNESCO,
2004).

 Overcrowded Classrooms
The teacher mentions that it is impossible to help every learner because of time
constraints and large class sizes, which leads to some learners being excluded from
receiving the individual support they need (Department of Education, 2001).
