1. Summarise the main ideas of the positivist, interpretivist, critical and post-structuralist curriculum as set out in chapter 1 of your textbook. Present your answer in table format.

2. Construct a concept map of “the general aims of the South African curriculum” (section 1.3 of any CAPS curriculum document). A concept map shows the most important concepts and how they are related to each other. A concept map is not a mind map

3. Discuss how you use your curriculum document to plan, present and assess your teaching. Refer to a specific subject and grade.

4. Suggest four new subjects that should be added to the current curriculum for a phase you know or teach. Give reasons for your choices.
