1.1 Basing your answer on the definition of communication from the African perspective, identify and explain any
two types of communication relating to this perspective. (2 marks)
1.2 The Shannon-Weaver model of communication is based on the idea that communication is a process of
transmitting information from a sender to a receiver through a channel. This model consists of seven basic elements.
Identify any four elements as illustrated in the scenario and briefly explain each. Cite practical examples from the
scenario to support your answer. (8 marks)
