(5 marks) 1.2 Describe a situation you have seen or been part of where people made peace after a disagreement. How does making up show the values of Ubuntu? (5 marks) 1.3 In your own words, explain the main values that make up the spirit of Ubuntu. Give two real-life examples of how you’ve seen these values in action in your daily life. (5 marks) 1.4 Recall a story shared in your family or community, like one about an important event, tradition, or lesson from elders. How does this story help preserve your community’s history and shape how people see their identity today? (5 marks) Question 2 – Long Answer Questions (30 Marks) Each question carries 10 marks. Suggested length: ±200–250 words per question. 2.1 Explain how your family background (clan, ancestry, or family traditions) has shaped your cultural identity. How do names, traditions/ rituals, or daily practices help define who you are? (10 marks). 2.2 Think of any proverbs or riddles you heard while growing up. How do these sayings help teach right from wrong or guide people’s behaviour in your community? Use examples to explain your answer. (10 marks). 2.3 Consider how Ubuntu has shaped how people in your community treat strangers or offer help, kindness, or support. Give specific examples of when you’ve seen this spirit in action. (10 marks). Question 3 – Essay-Type Question (50 Marks) Suggested length: ±800–1000 words. Write an essay about the concept of Ubuntu and discuss if it is still relevant today. Use your personal experiences, current social issues, and examples from Units 3, 4, and 5 to support your ideas. You are encouraged to use real-life examples from your community, your own life, or local events. Structure your essay with an introduction, main body paragraphs, and a conclusion. (50 marks).
