Note: Use the Commu-Tech case study in Lesson 0 on the module site, and in
Additional Resources, to complete all three parts of this assessment.
1. Using the Commu-Tech case study, analyse the organisational requirements imposed by the South African skills development system. Write a short report, addressing the following:
1.1 Briefly explain Commu-Tech’s mandatory organisational responsibilities. (4)
1.2 Evaluate how Commu-Tech’s training practices enable or limit organisational
compliance with skills development legislative and SETA requirements and the
organisation’s access to mandatory grants. Support the evaluation with suitable
examples from the case study.

Note: The report should have a table of contents, introduction, executive summary, a
discussion of the four aspects provided above, a summary and a list of sources. (2)

Create a concept map that visually represents how Commu-Tech interacts with
the South African skills development system to achieve compliance with skills
development legislation and SETA requirements and access mandatory levy-
grants.
