You are a Change Analyst of a large industrial organisation headquartered in South Africa but with operations in other markets across the African continent. To improve your knowledge and skills in managing large scale change initiatives, your organisation has enrolled you for an Executive Diploma in Change Management and Organisational Transformation at a top Business School in South Africa. For one of your assignments, your lecturer, Mr. C. Guqula, has asked you to write a 3000-word essay based on Case Study 8.1 in your prescribed textbook. For you to write and submit an academically sound essay that blends theory and practice, Mr. Guqula has asked you to use the prescribed study materials as your primary source of theory. However, to expand your knowledge and understanding of the phenomenon you are writing on, Mr. Guqula has asked you to identify and make use of relevant supplementary material that can be accessed and downloaded from the Unisa Library. In your essay, identify and critically discuss the following: (i) the diagnostic process steps that the new CEO followed as gleaned from the case study, and (ii) the steps that the CEO did not follow and the implications thereof on the final outcome of the change process.

To help you critically engage with the learning content, and to measure your own progress in building relevant knowledge and skills, you are required to write a self-reflective essay on your learning journey from the time you started with the topic on diagnosis (lesson 4) to the point of writing and submitting Assignment 02. In your essay, critically reflect on the knowledge and skills you have gained on studying the topic and on your areas of improvement and on how you intend to improve in those areas that need some improvement.
